Photographic winners put forest in focus
WINNERS of a photography competition, run by the Forestry Commission, collected their prizes at Haldon Forest Park.
The competition, which ran for several weeks, asked for photographs of people out and about having fun at Haldon and attracted many entries.

The winners and runners up were presented with their photos on either a canvas or large print and also won a Haldon Forest Park discovery pass worth £30.
The overall over 16 winner also won a one-to-one workshop with professional photographer Adrian Oakes, who judged the competition.

There were two overall winners.
Chris Parker sent in a shot of his nieces playing on a swing at Haldon and Ruby Davison, aged six, entered a picture of herself riding her bike taken with a head camera.
The four runners up were: Sue McGivern, who sent in a very creative mountain bike shot; Adrian Taylor, whose picture of his daughters and friends orienteering was great fun; Craig Holgate who entered an 'action' biking picture and the Nichols Centre photography group who sent a picture of some of the group enjoying the sensory trail at Mamhead.
The Nichols Centre supports adults with disabilities.
Commenting on the competition, Adrian Oakes said: "There were some great shots submitted for this competition and it was hard to choose the best.
"In the end, I felt the winning shots not only summed up Haldon really well, but showed great skill and a lot of thought had gone in to their composition."
Haldon Forest park manager Louise Bell added: "It was great to see so many photos from people that told the story of what they enjoy doing at Haldon. We will be using some of the winning shots in our publicity material and we hope they inspire other people to come and see what Haldon has to offer."
