Pilates instructor's 10 years in Bay
A BAY pilates instructor is marking 10 years in the resort with a new class.
'It makes sense, keep active for everyday life' is not just Body Control pilates instructor Sally Parker's philosophy, but also the name of her new class for the older person.

NEW CLASS: Sally Parker has been teaching pilates in the Bay for 10 years
As a Matwork master teacher qualified to advanced level, Sally set up her business in the Bay almost 10 years ago and many in her classes have attended from the beginning.
Now she is expanding and, in addition to her pilates Matwork classes in Chelston, she will be providing a new class in Babbacombe.
This chair-based class is aimed at the older person or those living with long-term health conditions such as arthritis.
Sally said the class will also suit anyone recovering from an accident, operation or treatment with a physiotherapist.
"It is an ideal building block on the road to recovery. Through safe, supervised exercise, clients build up their core strength, mobility, posture and balance, building confidence to undertake everyday tasks which are so central to maintaining independence," she said.
Sally keeps on top of the latest advances in research into the pilates technique, attending courses led by top international consultants and pilates teachers, some of whom, as Sally says 'are well into their 80s and so fit and full of life it is inspiring to see them'.
These have reinforced her knowledge that core strength and exercise holds the key to sustained mobility.
