Police alert as eight involved in street brawl outside pub
FIVE police officers were called out to a Paignton pub after reports of a group of men involved in a street brawl.
Four patrol cars attended the Well House pub in Victoria Street at 3.30pm on Saturday after reports of a fight between eight men.
A police spokesman from Paignton station said one of those involved was knocked unconscious after receiving cuts to his head during the fight.
He was later taken by ambulance to Torbay Hospital for treatment.
The police spokesman said: "An investigation is still on going.
"We don't know the reason for this altercation or what started it. Our problem is that most of them ran off when we got there.
"We're currently looking at the CCTV evidence and talking to some of the witnesses.
"We think we have identified one person and are still in the process of identifying the others."
One man was also arrested only to be released without charge.
He added: "One man was de-arrested because he was a victim rather than one of those involved in the incident."
