Police appeal following assault in Torquay
Two men had to be taken to hospital following an assault in Torquay on Sunday, June 3.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which took place on Ellacombe Road at around 1am.

Officers say the two male victims, aged in their forties, were walking along the road when they were confronted by a group made up of several men and at least one woman.
It is understood an altercation took place, which resulted in both men being knocked to the ground. The assault continued while they were on the ground.

Both victims were taken to Torbay Hospital by ambulance for head injuries. Their injuries are not thought to be serious, although they suffered bruising and cuts.
Police say a person believed to be associated with the group was heard to try to intervene and stop the attack on the two men without success.
