Police probe theft of £75 petrol

POLICE are seeking this driver (pictured) in connection with the theft of a £75 tank of petrol in Marldon.

Officers say the black BMW was displaying stolen registration plates, which had been taken from a car parked in The Avenue at Newton Abbot on Boxing Day.

A police statement said: "The driver of a black BMW motor vehicle filled the vehicle with petrol valued at £75 and left without offering any payment.

"The BMW was displaying stolen registration plates at the time, namely 875 MBO, which had been taken from a parked and unattended motor vehicle in The Avenue at Newton Abbot on Boxing Day."

The petrol incident occurred at the Harvest Energy petrol station in Churscombe Road, Marldon, at around 3.15pm on Monday, January 2.

The driver is described as a white man, aged approximately 25 to 30 years old, with short, mousy brown hair.
