Police probe travellers' caravan blaze at Haldon Hill
POLICE are investigating a fire at the travellers' camp on Haldon Hill this afternoon.
The alarm was raised at 2.20pm and fire crews from the Danes Castle and Middlemoor stations in Exeter were sent to the scene.
Crews extinguished the fire using one hose reel jet. The caravan was severely damaged by the fire.
A spokesman for the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said police had been informed as the fire was started deliberately and the caravan was believed to be stolen.
