“Not laighing at you Martin, I sympathise with you. However the Herald and the local council don't like to publise the fact that for some years now we have been resettling criminals and sex offenders in Torquay. Terms such as 'Providing homes for eveyone' are trotted out in a jolly sort of fashion. Well this is what you get when you over liberalise society.A large proportion of criminals operating in Torquay have been brought here in the full knowledge of who they are and what they do. They used to operate elsewhere, in northern towns, in the midlands, in London, but certain members of local society thought if they were resettled in Torquay then they whould 'mend their ways and be a benefit to society'. The Herald don't really like anyone talking about it.”

“Maybe Mr Garsse would be quite so cynical if it was his car that was torched. I returned to my home town of Torquay last October after a 200 mile journey just for a long weekend. Arriving on a Friday evening I parked up in Bronzhill Road. On the saturday morning I discovered that some moron had vandalised my car to the tune of £300. I then heard that more cars had been torched that night around the immediate area and only a few nights before two cars were also destroyed and they were in someones driveway, big laugh eh Mr Garsse, NO NOT REALLY!!
I wish I had been warned of such activity through the local paper then maybe I would have considered travelling down by coach instead of my vehicle that I rely heavily on to transport my wife around who suffers from accute vascluar Dementia. Keep it up Mr Garsse your cynicism does you no credit.
An ex Torquinian now in North Buckinghamshire.”

“Arsonists in Torquay, whetever next. We'll be reporting on drug addicts involved in criminal behaviour around Castle Circus tomorrow. Not really news the Herald, just everyday life in the English Riviera.”
