Pool joins our drive for fitter lifestyle

THE Admiral Swimming Centre in Brixham has signed up to the Herald Express loveLIFE campaign.

The pool, in Higher Ranscombe Road, is offering a free, one-hour session on Thursdays between 11.30am and 12.30pm.

We've teamed up with Torbay Sports Council to help people sign up to our loveLIFE campaign, which is aimed at helping South Devon residents lead fitter, healthier and happier lives.

Clubs, groups and other organisations have been asked to open up their facilities and training days or nights for free taster sessions to encourage the public to join them and jump on board the loveLIFE wagon at the same time.

Those taking advantage of the free sessions are being encouraged to make their pledge to loveLIFE.

We want people to pledge to do more exercise, quit cigarettes and lose weight in our 12-month project.

We have teamed up with major backers Torbay Care Trust, Torbay Council, Sanctuary Housing and Europlas in the year-long loveLIFE campaign. Also on board are DevonFresh and Sanctuary Care.

Our targets are to see enough people sign up to:

Quit a million cigarettes.

Run, walk, pedal, swim or row a million miles.

Dance a million steps.

Lose 100,000lbs in weight.
