HARRIS Pools and Leisure, based in Torquay, is celebrating after collecting awards at two prestigious awards ceremonies.

The British and Irish Spa and Hot Tub Association awards were held in conjunction with the Swimming Pool and Allied Trades Association awards in Brighton.

The BISHTA Award was given to Harris Pools and Leisure for residential portable hot tub over £5,000 and below £10,000 in recognition of the company's outstanding installation of the portable hot tub.

The SPATA award recognised company employee Kris German, who won the Paul Kite Award for the Pool Star of the Year.

Mike Harris, from Harris Pools and Leisure, said: "We're thrilled to clinch a win at the BISHTA awards this year.

"This award is a fitting acknowledgement of the Harris Pools and Leisure team's continued efforts and hard work over the past 12 months.

"We are doubly delighted, as one of our team, Kris German, won the Paul Kite Award for Pool Star of the Year."

Kris German said: "I am honoured to win this prestigious SPATA award for Pool Star of the Year, which is a wonderful acknowledgement of my extensive work within the pool and leisure industry."

The awards were organised by BISHTA, which represents more than 100 specialist hot tub and spa companies across the UK, with some overseas members.

The evening highlighted the achievements of the spa and hot tub industry by showcasing the best examples of design and innovation.

Chris Hayes, managing director of BISHTA, said: "This year there was tough competition, with a shortlist of 37 entries across five categories.

"The awards showcase the excellent work of our members and highlight the benefits of choosing a BISHTA member, as they provide great product knowledge and water treatment advice."
