It's cup week in the Torbay Sunday League as eight teams try to stay on the Bill Matthews Cup glory trail.

League leaders Wheel Power FC take on Palace Place Boys FC at Barton Downs after both sides recorded big wins on Sunday.Power smashed Dog & Duck FC with Jamie Chamberlain's four goals leading the way. Chris Srdinko bagged a treble while Ryan Hare (2) and a Kev Neil own goal helped make the scoreline 10-2.

Dog and Duck will hope to turn the tables on Plough Inn FC at Buckland and Milber after the Newton Abbot side beat D&D 5-2 in their last league encounter.

Palace Place warmed up for the cup with an 8-3 win over Moon FC at Clennon Valley. Luke Dandy (2), Jules Emati-Emati (2), Damien Hilliard, Scott Dandy, Mikey Bond and Mitch Lange inflicted the damage, which could have been worse if Luke Dandy had converted a penalty kick award, while Jimmy Spriggs, Connor Ashton and Scott Troth replied for Moon.

It's not lunacy however, to imagine Moon securing a first win of the season by knocking Torbay Wanderers out of the Cup at Cricketfield Rd, after Wanderers failed to raise a side against League title contenders Old Brewery FC.

Brewery's last outing was a 5-0 league win over Spartans in October, but they could find things much tougher in their forthcoming cup rematch at Quinta. On Sunday, Spartans, having strengthened their ranks, enjoyed their best win of the season with an emphatic 18-0 demolition of Indian Ocean FC at KGV.

Si Ross scored four, for the second successive game, while Scott Corderoy got a hat-trick. Dom Aplin, Dom O'Brien, Jamie McIntyre, Ash Edwards, Sam Burke, Gareth McEwan, Jordan Lam, Ben Carter, Alex Harding, a Mitch Lovell penalty and an own goal completed Ocean's misery. Nothing else to declare for Ocean who have already been eliminated from the Cup.
