Pursuing teams trade places as leaders go clear
ST ANNE'S A moved 13 points clear at the top of the Premier Division as they beat seventh-placed Upton Social Club A 4-2, for whom Jason Lewis won both his frames.
Aidan Whaley scored a break of 44 in the fourth frame as Paignton Cons moved back up to second place with a game in hand on the leaders as they beat Torquay Squash A 4-2. The squash team are five points adrift at the bottom of the table.
James Lee scored a break of 52 in the final frame as third-placed Preston Cue A drew 3-3 with Mid-Devon Cons A.
Riley's A slipped a place to fourth as they had a free week and are now 16 points behind the leaders with a game in hand.
Andy Hill scored breaks of 52, 47 and 39, and Bill Watson chipped in with a 35 clearance in the fourth frame, as Dawlish Cons A moved up a place to sixth by beating Brixham Cons A 4-2.
Brixham Sea Anglers A returned to form by beating tenth placed Preston Cue F 5-1.
PRESTON Cons B overwhelmed Palace Place B 6-0 to move four points clear at the top of Division One.
Central Cons C moved up a place to second as they won the final two frames to beat eleventh placed Potc A 4-2.
Palace Place A slipped a place to third and slipped further behind the promotion places as they lost 5-1 to St Anne's B, who moved up a place to fourth.
Torquay Squash C moved up a place to fifth as they beat bottom side Preston Cue E 4-2, who are still looking for their first win of the season.
Paignton Cons A slipped two places to sixth as their inconsistent form continued in a 4-2 loss to Riley's E, who moved up a couple of places to seventh.
Teignmouth RBL A recorded their first win of the season and moved up a couple of places to eighth as they beat ninth-placed Torquay Deaf A 5-1.
ELLIOT AMBROSE was on form as he scored breaks of 30, 24 and 20, and Yannis Westcott scored one of 20, as leaders Preston Cue G moved three points clear at the top of Division Two as they thrashed bottom side Preston Cue C 6-0.
Torquay Squash D stayed in second place from one more game played, but fell further behind the leaders, despite beating eighth placed Kirkham Street A 5-1.
Warren Mc Caughan scored a 22 clearance in the fifth frame as Brixham RBL A moved up a place to third as they hammered tenth-placed St Marychurch Cons B 6-0.
St Marychurch Cons C slipped a place to fourth as they had a free week.
Roundham B stayed in fifth place as they won the final two frames to snatch a 3-3 draw with sixth placed Upton Social Club B whilst Teignmouth RBL B moved up a couple of places to seventh as they beat ninth placed Preston Cue H 4-2.
PRESENTATION night for Devon county was held at Torquay Squash Club on Saturday with the Bilby Cup final played between Exeter and Plymouth at the same time. Exeter won.
Devon County is holding their annual meeting at Central Cons this Friday. Anyone wishing to attend will be made more than welcome.
