Rescue drama for 'Danielle'
A BRIXHAM fishing boat was brought to safety by lifeboat crews after it started taking on water.
The Danielle (right) was 43 miles south of Brixham when it got into trouble at 7.45pm on Friday.
Salcombe's RNLI lifeboat crew and a coastguard rescue helicopter from Portland were scrambled and supplied pumps to the 250-tonne vessel with six crew on board. It is believed the stern tube had split. It was decided to get the fishing boat back to its home port with the aid of the Salcombe lifeboat.
The Torbay inshore lifeboat helped bring her back to the harbour and another fishing vessel, Van Djick, stood by. The operation was completed shortly after 2am on Saturday.
