This raucous and smutty musical, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary, is as zany and crazy as ever.

The off-the-wall show has a massive cult following, with many of the audience getting into the spirit of things by dressing up as characters from the show and heckling the cast in all the right places.

This tour there sees a new set and light show to match and it works brilliantly for the story to unfold and has really given the overall production a new least of life.

Apparently, a lot of the cast were suffering with colds and 'flu but you'd never know. Their vocals and general performance was on form.

Oliver Thornton dons fishnets and heels as the transvestite Dr Frank N Furter and really made the role his own.

The actor was last seen at the venue playing the lead as Rusty, the sweet and innocent steam train, more than six years ago.

By starring as Frank N Furter in Rocky it really shows off his versatility. He's confident and a class act.

Former Emmerdale actress Roxanne Pallett was perfect as the heroine Janet and her boyfriend Brad played by Jesus Christ Superstar ITV reality show winner Ben Forster was just superb. His vocals were strong and crisp.

Philip Franks, best known for being in Darling Buds of May, was sensational as the narrator. His one liners when he responded to heckles from the audience were just brilliant.

Unfortunately X Factor star Rhydian Roberts was off sick from the show. He was due to play muscle man Rocky and was replaced by David Gale.

David did a great job and got the thumbs up by the women in the audience who 'whooped' and screamed at him when he came on in nothing more than a pair of leopard print Speedo type pants.

If the standing ovation at the end of the show is anything to go by, Richard O'Brien's show will run and run.

The show is at the Torquay venue until Saturday.
