Overseeing it all will be rock group Killing Joke's Jaz Coleman and composer Gabriel Prokofiev, the grandson of Sergei Prokofiev who is famous for his Peter and the Wolf composition.
The youngsters will have only two hours to rehearse before performing the unique piece of music at the Ariel Centre at King Edward VI Community College this evening.
The whole thing is part of the launch of the Department for Children, Schools and Families Year of Music Campaign designed to give more young people the opportunities to engage in music in all is forms.
The music the chamber orchestra and the digital musicians will be playing is Summer from Vivaldi's four seasons.
The eventual performance will be filmed.
Gabriel Prokofiev said: "Learning about how to use modern technology to make music can be very inspiring for children.
"Various software for computers, games consoles and even mobile phones can allow anyone to construct simple pieces of music in a very short space of time which can lead to very impressive results.
"It is vital for us to encourage children to make music themselves as it is a very important aspect in their development."
