Haldon Trail Runners also had members in action at the Herepath Trail Half Marathon.
Ian Lynch completed this very tough and hilly race 13th overall in a very fast time of 1:51:15, while Helen Lynch finished 31st overall and 4th lady in 2:05:13.
BRIXHAM Harrier, Nicky Johnson saw the New Year in wading knee deep through a bog on Bodmin Moor.
She took part in the Brown Willy Run. Starting from Jamaica Inn, the run started on a quiet country lane, and then on to a farm track, and for the bulk of the run, on moorland.
The moorland section was demanding, boggy under foot and a steep scramble to the summit ridge of Brown Willy – the highest hill in Cornwall.
The weather was kind with only one hailstorm and a beautiful rainbow to follow. Nicky reported the run as being tough for her but managed to finish in 1hr 41mins.
TEN members of South Devon's Fit2run club ran in Sunday's Herepath Half Marathon which had been postponed in November due to the localised flooding.
The event, starting at Thurlbear, was a multi-terrain race, organised by Taunton's Running Forever Running Club and was being held for the first time.
Following a very undulating route at the start from Thurlbear School, leading to extremely muddy (sometimes boggy) paths alongside fields and through woodlands, Diane Norman led the team home in 2:14:16, with Mandi Burroughs on her tail in 2:15:22.
Next home were Lucy Woolley and Helen Anthony in 2:23:54. Jo Webber was the next member to arrive in 2:36:29, Sharon Ellis in 2:51:35, with Clare Turner and Tracey Stronghill in 2:54:50. Margaret Waterer and Chris Rive followed them in with a time of 3:16:52.
