Running duo ready to take part in epic mountain challenge
A TOTNES man is running a mammoth 350km across The Alps to raise money for a prostate cancer appeal in Torbay.
Ceri Rees and his running partner Jodi Raynsford will be running through the epic mountain range in the Trans-Alp Challenge this month.
Ceri and Jodi hope to cover the mega-marathon which spans three countries in seven days.
It started on Saturday in Ruhpolding in Germany and finishes in Sexton, Italy.

The race, which has attracted 500 entries from around the world, will take them up and over 15,000 metres of ascent and through some of Europe's most stunning scenery.
Ceri runs the Totnes social enterprise Wild Running which aims to encourage people to broaden their horizons by introducing them to running off-piste in Dartmoor National Park and around the South Hams.
Wild Running received a £2,500 start-up fund from UnLtd and has been endorsed by JobCentre Plus and Transition Town Totnes.
Despite being a regular mountain marathon runner, Ceri, who won the gruelling East Devon Grizzly 20-mile run earlier this year, says the ominous distance will represent unchartered territory.
He said: "I am expecting it to be one of the biggest, physical challenges I have ever faced.
"My greatest fear has to be the threat of blisters and physical ailments, apart from the obvious one of getting lost.
"It is difficult to recover once you start to develop niggles, when you are running more than 30 miles a day.
"Having said that, the mental challenge will be as great as the physical.
"To me running is a heartfelt challenge. It is something that has personal and spiritual resonance and helps to connect me to the world around me.
"Doing it for such a worthwhile cause really solidifies this.
"I heard that Torbay Hospital is trying to raise funds for the prostate cancer appeal and so the timing is brilliant in terms of what I can do to help."
