IT'S often said that in times of crisis, putting the kettle on and having a soothing brew can right the wrongs.

And that has proved to be the case for a Teign Valley organic tea company which has posted whopping increases in sales.

Christow-based Tea's Me, owned and run by Helen Lynch (pictured), has announced it has seen its January sales rise by 200 per cent.

It's the second year on the trot that the company has posted massive increases.

Tea's Me is an organic herbal and black tea blender which supplies specialist brews to independent food shops and cafés around South Devon and further afield.

It is Soil Association certified and has previously been given a gold star award in the national Great Taste awards.

Helen, who started the business in 2006, said: "After a fantastic start to the year in 2011, I wasn't expecting the trend to continue into 2012 especially in the current economic climate, but I am delighted to be proved wrong."

She says its success is down to the combination of 'very loyal' customers and 'superb retail outlets'.

New blends are being developed and Helen hopes to launch a new tea at the Devon County Show in May.
