School's joy at top 100 rating
A NEWTON Abbot primary school is celebrating the news it is in the top 100 of the most improved schools in the country.
Bearnes Primary School received a letter from David Laws, Minister for State Schools, congratulating it for its sustained improvement from 2009 to 2012.

"It's a big landmark as we've had a tricky past," said Nicky Dunford, headteacher.
"I'm very pleased. There have been major improvements to the school in the last few years, with huge changes to the environment, and we are now delivering a cutting edge curriculum and have had some great, high-profile projects."

The school, which currently teaches almost 60 pupils, received a 'good' from Ofsted in all sections in its latest inspection in March last year.
