School torch parade through streets
CHILDREN in Highweek celebrated the Olympics with a special ceremony and parade.
Highweek Primary School and Nursery marked National School Sports Week with an Olympic opening ceremony and parade which weaved its way up Highweek Road into Broadlands Avenue and back to the school through Coronation Road.

Back in school grounds, parents and carers watched a cheerleading display.
School sports week was overseen by Lloyds TSCB, one of the main sponsors of the London 2012 Olympic Games.

London 2012 World Sport Day, on Monday, June 25, was part of the week and provided a chance for schools to celebrate the world's arrival in the UK for the greatest festivals of sport.
The opening celebration preceded a week of sport and activities held by schools across South Devon.
Also holding Olympic parades and events recently were Coombeshead Academy in Newton Abbot and Sacred Heart Primary in Paignton.
