A DRAMATIC rescue in Torbay saw the skipper of a Brixham training yacht help save the life of a man who had fallen into the water.

The 38-year-old fell off Princess Pier in Torquay and was drifting out to sea when he was hauled on board the vessel Nashira and given first aid.

The boat, which was heading back to Brixham, had answered a mayday call to assist the man as Brixham coastguards co-ordinated the rescue operation. The police helicopter lit up the scene using search lights and the lifeboat, coastguard teams and ambulance were called to assist. See Page 4.
