PENSIONERS enjoyed a day out at the seaside thanks to Paignton Lions.

For many years, the charitable organisation have funded a day out for 50 local senior citizens.

Despite this year being very hard for charities to maintain their funds they once again came up trumps and president Malcolm Stone even arrived to wave the group off.

Ann Harding, from Paignton Day Centre, said: "The weather was dry and all had a great time. The bus, with their purchases, was a lot heavier going home.

"There were 50 passengers and because a percentage travelled alone it was good to see them make friends with each other. Our priority has always been to combat isolation.

"Without Paignton Lions, this trip could not have taken place and they deserve a huge thank you from myself and all those who benefited."
