At around midday on Saturday the Fire Service received a call from East Devon District Council about a metal bar in a precarious location behind beach huts at West Walk Gardens, Esplanade, Seaton.  A fire appliance from Seaton attended the scene.

Fire crews were able to establish that a length of approximately one hundred metres of cliff face had been made unstable by a landslip.  Fire crews confirmed the unstable condition of the cliff face was a danger to members of the public using the walkway below.

Fire crews awaited the arrival of East Devon District Council who then closed the public footpath to the public.
