PSYCHEDELIA is the order of the day when a monochrome Ziggy Stardust hits the stage on roller skates.

Aficionados will of course know that it's not the return of David Bowie, but an appearance by Shakespeare's Ariel in Bob Charlton's Return to the Forbidden Planet.

As the show opens, disaster strikes and the spaceship crashes on to Planet d'Illyria where Doctor Prospero, his daughter, Miranda, and their robot, Ariel, reside — the only survivors of a crash several years previously.

The musical extravaganza is a sci-fi re-telling of Shakespeare's The Tempest with many references to his other famous plays throughout. Expect surprises throughout, including Prospero dressed as Elvis. Fancy dress is optional for the audience.
