Shotgun start for Spirit competition
EARLY festive cheer was in abundance at the Warren last weekend when the club's Spirit of Christmas competition took place.
Played in teams of three, to a full handicap stableford with one score counting, 20 teams took part.

The players were fortified with some seasonal mince pies and sherry before a simultaneous shotgun start tee off.
Despite the recent record breaking rainfall and that days early frost the Warren was fully open and played to all 18 greens.

The relatively balmy day allowed for some good scoring and at the post competition prizegiving the industry of the greenkeeping staff in ensuring a fully open course was well appreciated.
In the mixed competition past Club Captain Roger Benham, partnering Anne Ward and Johnathan Pearce took first prize with 50 points.
In the men's competition also with 50 points but in third place was Heath McDonald , Mark Heaver and John Winter.
They were just beaten by a point to second place by Nick Gumm, Paul Ticehurst and Greg Ticehurst.
Top honours went to Club Champion Lee Fryatt partnered with his father Paul Fryatt and Chris Davey with a very creditable 52 points.
Elsewhere at the Warren the ladies AGM elected Captain Sarah Thomas to serve a second year as Captain with Alison Marsh as her Vice Captain.
