ENTRIES are being sought for the third annual South Devon Skills Awards, being held as part of the inaugural South Devon Skills Festival.

The Skills Awards, organised by Torbay Development Agency, as part of its on-going commitment to support local enterprise and encourage businesses to develop and grow will take place at the Skills Festival on April 12.

These awards aim to celebrate excellence in skills and acknowledge the many outstanding achievements in business over the past year in the local area. There are a number of award categories — both individual and employer focused.

Steve Parrock, TDA chief executive, said: "The TDA supports businesses and helps them strive for excellence through a range of initiatives and advice services.

"Through the South Devon Skills Awards we aim to encourage businesses and employees to share their success and inspire others to raise their aspirations.

"The TDA encourages any business in Torbay to enter the Skills Awards and nominate an employee or colleague."

The closing date for entries is March 15 and the judging day takes place a week later on March 22, with the winners announced on April 12.

intermediate level apprentice of the year (level 2)

skills in small and medium businesses employer of the year (10 to 250)

skills in large businesses employer of the year (250 plus employees)

skills in the third sector employer of the year.
