“If you look on BBC Weather, it shows sleet from 9am to midday, snow midday, sleet from 3pm, rain from 5pm, shall I buy some skis?”

“"The Exeter-based Met Office is predicting a 60 per cent chance of snow in Torbay between 9am and 9pm on Friday."
The regional forecast is a 60% chance of snow. The key word is 'regional'. The local forecast (i.e. the forecast for Torbay) is for sleet.
Personally, I'll gladly settle for neither.”
