Newton began to make a bigger impression as the second half unfolded and reduced the lead when James Dudley carried the ball from inside his own half. Henry Bunclark added the two points to make it 10-7.

Then, from inside the opposition half, Josh Flower offloaded to Bunclark who ran 40 metres to dot the ball between the posts. He converted his own try to give the All Whites a 10-14 lead as the game tipped into time added on.

It proved to be an uncomfortable time for the visitors as Barnstaple threw everything they had to snatch victory, but Jake Sokolowski's last gasp try-saving tackle nailed the victory for an elated Newton Abbot.

TOTNES U13s defeated Honiton 51-0 at All Hallows in a first-round Devon Cup match.

The wide pitch suited the running game Totnes favour and they took full advantage of it.

Honiton rallied in the second half and threatened to score, but the Totnes defence held out.

Try scorers for Totnes were Tom Stone, Will Rideout , Callum Thomas, Jonty Coles, William Cunliffe and Sam Osborne.

TORQUAY U9s took to contact rugby like ducks to water against Paignton.

The scoreline was close all the way through the game with great defence from both sides.

Paignton came back at Torquay in the second half and managed to level the match at 25-all.

Torquay's try scorers were Lewis Crocker and Benjamin Woodward. Man of the Match was Harry Sutton.

TORQUAY Athletic Colts won 31-22 away to Newton Abbot.
