Stars line up as Rocky Horror Show returns to Bay on 40th anniversary tour
ROCKY Horror is to timewarp back into the Bay on its 40th anniversary tour.
Since its first appearance at the Royal Court Theatre in June 1973, Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show has become the world's favourite rock 'n' roll musical.
It has been performed worldwide for almost 40 years in more than 30 countries in every continent and has been translated into more than 20 languages.
To celebrate the 40th anniversary, Christopher Luscombe is creating a new production for a year-long UK national adventure which will head to Torquay from January 7 to 12 — the second date on the tour.
West End star Oliver Thornton, who has appeared in Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Phantom Of the Opera, Les Miserables, Chicago and Starlight Express, will follow in the footsteps of Tim Curry when he stars as the lead character of Frank 'n' Furter.
Double-platinum selling artist, Rhydian, who shot to fame on X Factor before starring in We Will Rock You and Grease, will star as Rocky.
Former Emmerdale and Waterloo Road actress Roxanne Pallett will star as Janet, and Ben Forster, who won the ITV1 series Superstar and then went on to play the lead in Jesus Christ Superstar, will star as Brad.
