Store shuts with loss of 30 jobs
THE Comet store at The Willows, Torquay, has closed with 30 staff losing their jobs just days before Christmas.
Hopes of finding a buyer for the electrical giant's 195 stores were lost this week as the doors were closed for the final time.
Bargain hunters heading to the branch before it closed on Tuesday evening were met with a bare store, with fixtures and fittings taken out and even the tables and chairs for sale.
Some 2,500 workers across the UK have lost their jobs.
