Connor Black, one of the business students involved, said: "The auditions were really fun and the people looked like they enjoyed it too.

"I can't wait to see them again on the night of the show, it's going to be awesome."

There will be an interval in between the talent show and the award ceremony.

Refreshments will be served including canapés made by the college's catering students.

The Inspirational Teens Awards will be presented to teenagers from South Devon who have done something exceptional that is not normally recognised.

The categories are:

sporting achievement

overcoming adversity

creative arts

academic achievement

community contribution.

The event has been organised by students from the college studying for a level three diploma in business.

Student Sophie Mackie said: "We have all been impressed by the quality of the nominations we've received and moved by some of the individual stories.

"The judges are going to have a difficult job picking the winners from such a strong field."

The students are very grateful to a number of local businesses that have supported the event by donating prizes for the winners and raffle.

Tickets for the event are free and can be collected from college reception.
