Styles banks a 21lb ghostie ... during a roach-fishing visit!
VISITOR Mick Styles produced the catch of the week at Town Parks Fishery when he banked a fine 21lb 2oz ghost carp from peg seven.
Okay, so there's nothing remarkable about a 21lb ghostie — until you consider that Styles was fishing for roach on a waggler rod with 4lb straight through line, a size 18 hook and single red maggot!

The following battle went on for some time and it was undoubtedly Styles' skill that secured the catch.
He had also taken plenty of large roach to 1lb 12oz before taking the ghostie a couple of rod lengths out from the peg.
Regular Bob Ineson fished overnight from peg one, which has been producing quality fish for the last few weeks.
Fishing a kipper and garlic boilie cast tight to the mid-water bar, Ineson took a fine 19lb 2oz common.
Ben Jones moved from peg 14 over the lake to peg 10 and the change proved beneficial.
Fishing Devon cream boilies, Jones banked two carp, a mirror and a common of 15lb 8oz and 14lb 2oz respectively. Both fish fell to baits offered close to the main island.
The upper Match Lake continued to produce medium bags of silvers and carp. Caster and chopped worm proved successful from most pegs.
The dam wall proved popular with anglers keeping their backs to the stiff north easterly winds.
Phil Ions fished peg 20 and took 36lbs roach to 12oz, which first-time angler Colin Bennett visited the top lake and, after some tuition from the coach, took 35 roach on maggot.
Son James fished alongside and also took roach on his 4m whip — in fact he caught the biggest fish of the day, much to dad's delight!
