Subsidised training support to help Bay businesses grow
A SERIES of support programmes to help Torbay businesses develop and grow has been launched.
Torbay Development Agency has announced a series of courses designed to equip local businesses with a greater understanding of business issues and to stimulate ideas for business improvement, development and growth.
Places are limited to 15 per session and are for any business, new, growing or established.
Torbay Council cabinet member for regeneration, Chris Lewis, said: "Improving the Bay's economic prosperity is our number one priority. Torbay businesses have been telling us they need help to grow and develop following the impact of the recession.
"We know they form the backbone of the local economy and we want to ensure we do everything we can to help them flourish. That is why these series of business workshops have been developed. This is a great opportunity for Torbay businesses to seize the initiative and take advantage of the support that is out there."
The courses will be run for the next two years starting from Thursday, April 15 with:
boosting sales through the internet
your business and how the law can help you
leading your small business to success
creative thinking
adopting social media to boost business
how VAT can boost your cash flow
pricing for success
your best business friend — cash flow
introduction to exporting: workshop and mentoring programme.
The TDA has drawn together a consortium of local training providers to develop and deliver these workshops, based on the needs of local companies. Between them, these trainers have many years' experience in their fields.
The courses will be delivered in Torquay, Paignton and Brixham to make it easier for businesses to attend. They will be heavily subsidised by the TDA and cost between £10 and £40.
