Supermarket staff facing jobs shake-up
STAFF at Newton Abbot supermarket Tesco are facing a jobs shake up at the store.
It is understood that a consultation is being carried out and staff are having one to one meetings with the management.
Potentially cutting some hours and possible voluntary redundancies are believed to be up for discussion.
A spokesman for shop worker's union USDAW, which represents staff at some Tesco stores, said: "There is a restructure taking place at the Newton Abbot Tesco store and USDAW is being fully consulted."

A Tesco spokesperson said: "From time to time we review the contracted hours in all our stores to make sure that we're offering the best working arrangements to colleague and providing the best possible service to customers."
The supermarket recently introduced a new self service system where customers can scan their shopping as they shop.
The scanner fits into the handle of a shopping trolley. Shoppers scan goods as they shop and pay at a console before leaving.
