Swansbrook bids to go one better at Ideford
Seven races are scheduled to take place at the South Devon Hunt Point-To-Point at Ideford Arch tomorrow where 135 entries have been received. After a three-week break due to adverse weather conditions, racegoers will be hoping that conditions stay fair for this meeting.
The confined heads the day's action at noon, sponsored by Mark Westaway & Son, and of the entries the Sue Popham-trained Swansbrook ran a good second behind Googoobarabajagal at Wadebridge earlier this month and was only just caught in the final 50 yards with the winner getting up by half a length. Another entry is the Hussey's Hustlers Club-owned John Daniell who has some decent form including an intermediate win at Badbury Rings.
Next up is the Dodson & Horrell PPORA club members' race for novice riders and the Ross Oliver-owned Wee Fly is on a roll for jockey Bryony Frost having scored two wins already this season at Wadebridge. Also entered is Oakfield Legend who finished second to Timeshift at Black Forest Lodge in December.
The two mile four furlong open maiden for four-, five-, six- and seven-year-olds is wide open and those to note are the Kayley Jones-trained Pasternak Jack, after his recent fourth at Black Forest Lodge, and Aboo Dreamer. The gelding appeared to relish the going at Chaddesley Corbett, running a promising second to Bringinthebranston.

The feature race of the day is the Totnes & Bridgetown Race Co Ltd mixed open with a strong field of 23 entries including the prolific pointing and hunter chase winner Divine Intavention who opened his season's campaign winning the mixed open at Black Forest Lodge and then was just beaten half a length by Herecomesthetruth at Cottenham.
Following on is the Tozers Solicitors-sponsored restricted race which looks a good opportunity for Coosan Lad who has been knocking at the door in restricted races in Wales and will look to bag this for trainer Luke Price.
Two maiden races, the first for mares and fillies only, followed by an open maiden wrap up the day's events.
The course is off A380 on the Chudleigh intersection, postcode TQ13 OAE. All on-course facilities bookies, bar, hot food and trade stands will be available and entrance is £20 per car or £10 single occupancy.
