TORBAY'S TYGA South West have been honoured with the Club of the Year accolade at the UK Black Belt Hall of Fame awards night.

Instructors Jon and Becky Lees, who run the Torquay and Paignton-based clubs, also claimed the Excellence in Martial Arts award to follow on from their world championship wins and USA Black Belt Hall of Fame inductions.

The night was made even better with several other awards for the club.

Dan Ling, Chris Brimicombe and Tom Gorman picked up the award of Spirit of Martial Arts for their longstanding commitment to the sport, as well as dedication to the Torbay clubs.

Richard Pyle won the Special Merit award after a year which has seen him training through various non-sport related injuries, including a knee operation.

As well as the Torquay and Paignton clubs, Sensei Becky also teaches ladies' self defence classes to ladies of all abilities within the South Devon area.
