BREAKING NEWS: Teignmouth gas main fire forces road closure
A MAIN road in Teignmouth has been closed after a gas main fire.
Police and firefighters were called to the Broadmeadow Industrial Estate in Bishopsteignton Road at 9.10am.

Two fire appliances from Teignmouth and one from Torquay was sent.
Crews set up a cordon, evacuated nearby commercial premises and requested assistance from Transco and police.

A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "It appears that the main has fractured and resulted in the fire.
"The scene is surrounded by industrial, rather than residential units.
"The road will be closed for some time until the authorities are able make the area safe."
Diversions have been set up around the area and police are directing traffic.
