RAIDERS who broke into the derelict old Dairy Crest site in Totnes got away with £500 worth of scrap.

The thieves cut through a padlock to get into the site, next to Totnes Railway Station, which has been empty and closed down for two years.

They struck some time between last Wednesday and this Wednesday, stealing a quantity of electric cable and other scrap materials.
