Topsoil appeal
AN appeal has gone out for lorry loads of good topsoil.
It is for the Secret Garden in Pendennis which is now really starting to take shape, says Susie Colley, chairman of Tormohun ward Community Partnership.
She thanked the Groundwork team for their hard work and digger driver Ian, who came along to help level the site from Landscape.
"Gibbs and Lugg have kindly helped with hardcore to allow the digger on site but now we realise that we are in need of some topsoil," she said.
"If there are any developers in the area who can kindly contact me and arrange for the topsoil from their developments to be brought over to help this community garden I should be very happy to help them with the disposal.
"I hasten to add we do not want clay or 'builders rubbish' but good top soil to help the community grow their veggies."
If you have some spare topsoil, e-mail Susie at susie@healthplanplus.com or call her office on 01803 314600.
The One Planet Food Project at Occombe is appealing for unwanted plant pots of any size and shape, old garden tools, lollipop sticks or plant labels, and anything you would like to donate for the new community vegetable garden at Occombe Farm.
They can be dropped off at the farm in Paignton. Ask for grower Emily Vevers.
