Riviera Centre
Faced with saving £10million from their budget as a result of cuts in Government grant, members had to balance the books on school transport, beach services and care of the elderly.
Conservative councillors quashed a series of amendments by Lib Dem and independent members as they held firm on the programme of budget cuts.

“It is always sad to see Shoalstone Pool which encourages healthy outdoor activity getting so little support compared to the Riviera Centre, when it has already attracted so much support from the community.”

“Hey Edna!
Are you fed up of all that pesky "thinking" and "typing" in your attempts to convert everyone to your cynical misanthropic anomie?
Try this.....

No more thinking or typing - just hit "refresh" then cut and paste!
The great thing is - I just tried it 5 times and each one was just as insightful and relevant, if not quite as amusing as the ones you thought up yourself.
.......Thus giving you more time to look at ladies on the interweb or whatever is you do when you are not posting here.”

“I strongly disagree robocop, there is nothing semi third world about Torquay. Torquay is full on third world, we use burning cars and vans to light our streets.”

“the street lamps in our street are being turned off constantly early and we are being left bundling around in the dark. I don't see their logic. They would rather leave people in pitch dark than install cree xml leds 3w leds with advanced lenses which would be absolutely splended and use less power the sodium lamps combined but no they choose to leave streets pitch black. THis means that it will be impossible for people to spot crimes being commited and being able to see them occuring. FRankly this is semi 3rd world conditions.”

“While organizing a venue for the Bridge Groups AGM , I gathered quotes from four venues, the most expensive by over £400.00 was the RICC, this is for an event being held in February not peak season. All the other quotes were for venues which did not enjoy a large subsidy from the local taxpayer. Needless to say the RICC did not get our business.”
