Torbay celebrates and rewards its customer service stars
CUSTOMER service heroes of Torbay have been recognised for their commitment and hard work.
As part of National Customer Services Week Torbay Council along with the Police, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service and the Torbay and Southern Devon Health and Care NHS Trust, took part in a campaign to celebrate good practice and dedication.

Residents and members of staff were asked to nominate an employee, volunteer or member of the public who they felt went above and beyond their role.
The awards were supported by businesses including Civica and Ross and Roberts and many others donated prizes.

The week culminated in a ceremony at Torquay Connections to recognise those who have achieved outstanding customer service and won their category.
The awards were presented by Torbay's Mayor Gordon Oliver and Deputy Mayor David Thomas.
Mr Oliver said: "I am very proud to work with so many good people who, day after day, demonstrate their commitment to the council and the essential services we provide.
"I was delighted to attend the awards ceremony it was a fantastic way of showcasing the work that is being carried out and how it is really having a positive impact on people's lives in the Bay.
"Congratulations to all those who won awards and to everyone nominated -- they deserve our thanks and recognition."
Community Award — the individual or team whose work has helped engage residents in activity leading to positive outcomes for their community

Green Award — the individual or team whose ideas and dedication has made a positive impact on the environment, internally, locally or nationally

Working with Young People — the individual or team who has helped to change a young persons' future or help to set up a successful youth facility

Care and Commitment — the individual or team whose care has helped change somebody's future

Customer Care Out and About — the individual or team who has provided outstanding customer service outside of an office environment

Service Excellence In an office based role — The individual or team who has gone beyond the call of duty and provided outstanding customer service in an office based role for internal or external customers

Team Award — outstanding team of the year
