Torbay firefighters take the plunge for charity
FIVE firefighters will be taking the plunge on Saturday to raise funds for charity.
The five will be swimming four miles for the Fire Fighters Charity, starting at 9am from Brixham and arriving at Torre Abbey Sands on the slipway between midday and 1pm.
Kevan Connon, Retained Crew Manager from Torquay said: “We have been training twice a week for about eight months, for the last two months in open water and before this in a pool.
"It will be a great challenge and fundraising event for such a worthy cause. Between the five of us we hope to raise about £1,000.”

The Fire Fighters Charity is for all fire service personnel during their times of need, and assists thousands of individuals every year, by providing pioneering treatment and support services.
