Torbay lifeboat launched as classic yacht drifts towards shore
TORBAY'S all-weather lifeboat was called into action after a classic sailing vessel taking part in Brixham's BrixFest celebrations got into difficulties.
The lifeboat was launched at 1.40pm on Saturday after the lugger Iris got into problems half a mile off Saltern Cove at Goodrington.

The Iris was said to be in difficulty in steady easterly winds and drifting towards the shore at Goodrington.
The lifeboat was diverted from escorting a broken-down vessel into Tor Bay and took the Iris under town and took her back to Brixham Harbour.

The lifeboat had originally been called at 12.45pm to a position eight miles off Berry Head where the 40-foot motor vessel Bon Bay Blue had suffered an engine failure and loss of steerage.
The Coastguard vessel Falcon took over when the lifeboat was diverted to the Iris incident, and towed the Bon Bay Blue to Torquay.
