WEBSITE design and marketing studio Createanet has been praised by Torbay MP Adrian Sanders for being innovative and creative and showing that high quality business can be carried out in the Bay.

The monthly Torbay branch Federation of Small Business showcase was held at Createanet's Torquay harbourside offices.

Mr Sanders said the fact that Createanet, headed by Kevin King, has several blue chip companies as clients, together with maintaining its roots helping local businesses to thrive and grow is a shining example to others.

He said: "We need more creative thinking companies like Createanet in the Bay.

"Kevin has shown that businesses can be successful in Torbay, despite the problems that we do still face with transport links.

"Modern technology means many businesses can be successful wherever they are based."

And he said the fact Createanet has managed grow and thrive over the last ten years it has been trading, building up a national reputation for producing quality websites, is a good model for other Bay businesses to follow.

"We have many small business start ups in the Bay and Createanet has shown businesses don't necessarily have to move away once they grow to a certain size."

This is the second FSB showcase event — after they were introduced by chairman Jim Thomson.

He said: "I took over the chair of the Torbay branch in November. We have 660 members in Torbay who don't talk to each other. The idea of these showcase events is to do more business together and talk to each other. It's an opportunity for people to showcase their business.

"I'm very grateful to Kevin and the Createanet team for allowing us into their offices and hosting the event. It's been very successful."
