Torquay United beat Liverton in penalty shootout
TORQUAY United won through to the next stage of the St Luke’s Devon Bowl after a penalty shoot-out victory over Liverton last night.
First blood in the match at Newton Abbot’s Coach Road went to Torquay, with Ashley Yeoman winning possession on the right to cross for Saul Halpin to nod home the opener on six minutes.

Liverton, from the South West Peninsula League, came back strongly to equalise with a Nick Rudge penalty within four minutes of going behind and then they took the lead through Jamie Chamberlain just after half-time.
United grabbed the vital goal to make the match 2-2 and force penalties when Tom Cruise scored from a tight angle on 74 minutes.
