TORQUAY United this afternoon confirmed that manager Martin Ling will be away from the club for several weeks.

He is currently being treated for a debilitating illness.

The club also confirmed that it had begun the search for an experienced coach to help assistant manager Shaun Taylor run the team in the meantime.

The statement read: "He is receiving specialist care and, while we are able to report that he is making some progress, it is anticipated that Martin will be away from work for several weeks.

“All I said was that this pathletic reporting copied from another site.

I criticised both the online editor and editor of this paper for being lazy and only having had one job since they both were cub reporters on the Herald Express.

No mention was made of Martin Ling. I support Torquay United and was there last night to watch their poor performance and the many others this season BUT I WILL BE THERE FOR THE NEXT HOME GAMES.

I wish Martin Ling a speedy recovery.

colli27 I apologise for upsetting you.......but continue to read the site tonight when our councillors will be reporting on their actions by using twitter, no doubt the typing and photographs will be more important than representing their constituents.”

“Like any other TUFC fan - heck, any other reasonable person - I wish Martin Ling well and hope that we get to see him hale and hearty back at Plainmoor soon.”

“Dave_David how pathetic are you? Martin Ling is seriously ill and no-one knows what's wrong with him so how would Guy know? What else is he supposed to report on? speculation?

Also how do you know it was lifted from BBC? I read it on here first before BBC Devon/Sport.

It's easy to criticize people behind a keyboard, I suggest you get a life and if you don't like what you read on here then stop reading or at least stop posting negative horrible comments.”
