Torquay United team up with Dame Hannah's trust
TORQUAY United have teamed up with the Dame Hannah Rogers Trust at Seale Hayne in a move that will give the Gulls use of a top class rehabilitation facility.
Training just down the road on the Seale Hayne pitches, the United stars have been given access to the brand new state of the art hydrotherapy pool at Dame Hannah’s.
“This facility will revolutionise the way we treat injuries,” said United physio Damian Davey. “Hydrotherapy works on muscle relaxation and decreases muscle spasm, enabling a reduction in pain due to the levels of support.
“I know I’m getting technical here but gravity is countered by buoyancy in the hydropool, which increases muscular strength and endurance through resistance.

“The net effect on an injured player is improvement in swelling due to hydrostatic pressure, enhanced balance and stabilisation, leading to increased confidence for the player to move the injured area.
“As a physio, this is a fantastic development in our ability to treat injuries through the use of a facility that many Premier League clubs cannot access, and I would like to thank everyone at Dame Hannah’s for their support.”
A Torquay united spokesman added: "It is a fantastic partnership and we are very proud to be working with Dame Hannah’s. Find out more about their incredible work by visiting www.discoverhannahs.org"
