Torquay hit top after seven-wicket romp against Kingsbridge
TORQUAY completed their B Division programme by defeating Kingsbridge by seven wickets.
Losing their first four wickets for 45 runs, Kingsbridge recovered thanks to James Greenhill's 41 supported by Nick Burke (13). Once their partnership of 38 ended, the remaining Kingsbridge batting was swept away.

Five Kings' wickets fell for 14 runs with spinner Aaron Stevenson taking four for 19 in a fine spell.
The earlier bowlers, Charlie Stocks (2-13); Nick Baines (1-14), Tom Mason (1-24) and Luke Fitton (1-11) all played their part in limiting the Kingsbridge total to 97.
Torquay only required 14 overs to complete their victory. The opening partnership of 56 was dominated by Charlie Stocks (44) and Adam Smith (17no) saw Torquay home.
Apart from tidy spells by Rawlinson (1-17) and Bradbury (2-22) the Kingsbridge bowlers could not cope with the Torquay response.
Defeat leaves Kingsbridge in mid-table with 80 points with one match to play. Torquay, after a poor start to the season, now lead the table with 131 points but anxiously await results from Barton (117) and Brixham (83) as both clubs have games in hand.
IPPLEPEN continued their successful season in the A Division by completing a third successive victory, this time at home to Dartington & Totnes.
Ipplepen's early batsmen, Joe Abbott (51ret), Tom Dyer (33), Sam de Friend (50ret) and Sam Wakeham (38) scored at 10 an over to raise their team's total to 209 for four. Christian Buckner's three for 30 from four tidy overs was an isolated success for Dartington.
In reply Dartington responded positively but despite the efforts of Liam Bligh (27), Harry Baxendale (51ret) and Sam Kaye (34no), eight Ipplepen bowlers contained the response
Dartington's innings ended on 152 for three. Ipplepen gained 23 points to raise the season's total to 82 and into third place.
Dartington prop up the table and still seek their first win of the season after losing to Paignton at Queen's Park.
The early Paignton batsmen, George Yates (28), Connor Bryan (33), George Benton (54ret) and Michael Meech ensured a final score of 162 for four. Ben Oakey took two for 14.
Dartington were unable to dominate the Paignton bowlers, though Baxendale with 34 shared a third-wicket partnership of 30 with Sam Kaye (13). The final total of 96 for six included 27 extras.
Paignton's bowlers, Connor Bryan (2-3) and George Yates (3-11) contained the run flow.
Victory takes Paignton to second place in the league with 91 points, but still 17 points behind the leaders, Abbotskerswell (108pts).
DISAPPOINTINGLY, only five clubs entered the innovative U15-U17 Cup, which started with Abbotskerswell hosting Stoke Gabriel.
Stoke scored 96 with Giselle Ansley (44) the dominant batter. Dan Escott (15) and Extras (14) were the only other double scores.
Abbots' opening bowler Matt Kidd enjoyed brilliant figures of five wickets for eight runs with two maidens in his four overs. All five dismissals were bowled!
Abbots secured victory in the 16th over with consistent opening batsman Richard Ashworth scoring 42. Undefeated batsmen, Alex Burt 10 and Neil Last 10 saw Abbotskerswell to victory by six wickets and into the last four.
