Torquay's Countdown to Christmas begins
THE countdown has started to the start of Christmas in Torquay.
Santa arrives in town on Saturday November 17 and kicks off a day of great free family entertainment in Torquay town centre from 11am.
Parking in all Torbay Council car parks and Fleet Walk is £2 all day, not free after 3pm as previously reported.

11am Father Christmas arrives.
There will be live music and entertainment on stages throughout the town.
Street entertainers will be performing throughout the town featuring: Mr Phil giant elf on stilts and fire juggling, funky 70s Style Santa and Elf, - acrobatic circus skills show plus balloons, Flight of Fancy aerial act, two amazingly talented female performers at Castle Circus and Torwood Street, Chameleon a high-energy band, Elfic, a multi-skilled act, Spangles a multi-skilled, larger than life unicycle, juggler, and comic, and stilt walkers.
Singer Damien James is master of ceremonies, and Steve Conroy is on-site act co-ordinator
3pm onwards: X Factor star Amelia Lilly and Adam Isaac from The Voice will be performing on the Fleet Walk Stage.
6pm next to Torquay harbour the Christmas Lights will be switched on and there will be a pyrotechnic display.
