Totnes man hurt in Paignton collision
POLICE closed the road after a 24-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision with a car at just before 3pm on Tuesday.
It was thought the Totnes scooter rider might have suffered serious leg injuries in the crash. His Peugeot Speedfight scooter collided with a Nissan Qashqai car outside Beechdown Garage on the Totnes Road.

The road was closed from Tweenaway Cross to True Street, near Berry Pomeroy for more than an hour after the crash.
An ambulance and rapid response vehicle attended and the scooter rider was taken to Torbay Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the car, registered to Bridge North in Shropshire, was not injured.
Paignton fire crews attended to clear the road after the crash.

Judging by the standard of driving around here, I expect it will have something to do with the driver not seeing the moped.
Not one day goes by without some idiot dawdling along at 35mph along NSL sections of road over-correcting their steering because they are struggling to see in the dark and wet. The Berry Pomeroy stretch is worse as they veer into on-coming traffic, then snap back nearly driving into the hedge.
Hope the lad makes a speedy recovery”

“@JENNYHOLMES cannot believe you think like this , both my children rode a moped from the age of 16 for a year to gain road sense and see a different view of car lorry van drivers , they passed their driving tests at the age of 17 first time and now have a far greater knowledge of road sense and are always on the lookout for bikers ..... you need to keep your nasty thoughts to yourself untill you know all the facts . i really hope the young man who has sustained these injuries is going to be ok and that the driver is not traumatised in any way .”
