Traffic chaos after power lines cut
ENGINEERS had to repair power cables after a van crashed in Paignton.
Western Power was called out after a Ford Transit van hit an electricity pole and overturned.
Five customers lost power immediately and were left without supplies for five hours while repairs were made.
A further 466 customers lost power while the damage was isolated, but were back on line after seven minutes.
The driver of the vehicle was not injured in the incident, which happened on Totnes Road near the Devon Holiday Park at about 6am on Monday.
The accident caused police to close the road between Tweenaway Cross and the Falcon Holiday Park for two hours, which caused traffic chaos at rush-hour.
As a result there were reports of drivers stuck in traffic.
